Jingshan Park is located in central Beijing, with the Palace Museum to the south. It is situated at the Beijing's central axis. The park was the royal court during the Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. It was a wild countryside before the Yuan Dynasty. Taining Palace and Zaoxihuatan (Beihai today) were built near it during the reign of the Jin Dynasty.
